Why does Nudity / Sxuality make People unComfortable?

In our Society we are taught to Hide Parts of our Bodies from Other People, Most Specifically Sxual Parts. We are taught that revealing these Parts of our Bodies is SomeThing to be aShamed of: that Only the Desperate ( Strippers, Escorts, People with Self-eSteem Issues, etc ) would do so on a Regular Basis with AnyOne but an Intimate Partner. This Notion is held as eSpecially True for Ladies, whose Bodies are “Objects of Lust.” A “Good Girl” is One who hides her Body, who does not evoke Lust. A “Bad Girl” is One who shows her Body off and uses the Lust it evokes for her Purposes. Not Only does this reveal a Sxist Tilt to our Culture (  Men can use their Sxuality to gain Power, but if a Lady does it, she is a Harlot; Men can go without Shirts in Public in Canada, but not Ladies; in Some Muslim Cultures, Ladies can't show Any of their Body Parts in Public; it is Ladies who have the Most to gain by taking off their Clothes, but, Equally, it is Ladies who are Most shamed for doing so, etc ), it also reveals a proFound Cultural unEasiness with the Body itsSelf: eSpecially that Body which makes More Bodies: the Feminine Body.

Hatred of the Body, to me, is Hatred of the Self, on the inDividual and Social Levels. To feel aShamed of the Body in its Naturalness and aShamed of those Bodies which incite us to make More Bodies is to feel aShamed of the Self in its Deepest Naturalness. This Shame can be traced back to the Biblical Era and Probably further: it is made Clear in Genesis: Adam and Eve become aware of their Nakedness and are aShamed of it. Why? Before whom are they aShamed? Before God, who made them the Way they are? Why would God make People in Such a Way that they would have to feel aShamed of their Genitals? Because he wants to punish them? The Sadism of Genesis reveals the Txt as a Manipulation: a Person who is aShamed of themSelves is a Person who is Easy to push around, and push Adam and Eve around God does, and for his Own Ego's Sake. The God of Christianity is the God of Tyranny. Tyranny over anOther begins by shaming the Other, eSpecially about their Most Sensitive Parts. The God of Genesis is a Bully who would like to see his Creations Obedient: when they are not, he punishes them with the Deepest of Shames. Shame in where they come from, Shame in what they are, Shame in how they make More of themSelves. The Shame goes as Deep as it can go. In taking Genesis Seriously as a Creation Myth, a Person is made to feel aShamed of the Very Fact of their being born. This is why Nietzsche wrote that Christianity as a Religion is antiThetical to EveryThing that fosters a Strong Sense of Self. 

Challenging mySelf to appear Nude on the InterNet is a Way to overcome my Own Shame, and thereby, to help Other People overcome theirs

There is no Value to the Self in being aShamed of the Body. There is Only a Benefit to those who would keep you down, locked in Shame, that it might make them feel Bigger by Comparison.

A Society that is aShamed of Sxuality is a Society that mistreats Sxuality

In Judeo Christian and Muslim Societies for Xample, Shame as Regards Sxuality is Common. So in the News we are Witness to Such Events as this: a Lady being kept, on "Religious Grounds" out of a disCussion on Birth Control, and the Killing of Three Rebellious Young Girls and their inFertile StepMother by their Father, Mother and Brother in an so-Called "Honour" Killing.

My Choosing to appear Nude and in Sxually Graphic Positions on my WebSite is my Way of combating “Sx as Shame” Belief Systems, which impact Ladies More Stringently than Men, as the Previous Xamples indicate. Ladies' Bodies are the More Obviously Sxual and so they become the Repository of Sxual Shame. In appearing Naked on my WebSite, I am saying, “Yeah, I'm Naked. So the Fuck what?” I am forcing People to confront their Own Notions about what is Appropriate vs. inAppropriate in Terms of Xpressions of the Body and of Sxuality. Specifically, in Xpressions of the Feminine Body and Sxuality.

Do you think I ought to be aShamed of mySelf? Do you think I am Only appearing Naked to get the Attention from Male Readers? What does this say about your Conception of Sxuality, and of Ladies' Sxuality in Particular?

A Girl appearing Naked on her Literary Blog is a Relevant Cultural Statement

A Naked Body is seen as Deliberately Sxual / Attention-Grabbing in our Culture because we are so Rarely witness to it as AnyThing Other than a Means to sell Products through associating those Products with Sx, even when the Product being sold is the Self. What would Otherwise have been an Aesthetic Choice / Personal Liberty is made to look like a Seedy, underHanded Grab for the Wrong Kind of Attention, Artistic Work surrounding Nudity Less Valuable as Art, eSpecially when it is an Attractive Young Lady making that Art. To challenge this Negative Stereotype, I add Blatantly Sxualized Imagery to my Serious, intelLectual, and Morally inSightful Literary and Cultural Criticism. The Physical Nudity is meant to reinforce the intelLectual Honesty I am attempting in my Work. I offer my Naked Thoughts, so I offer my Naked Body, as they are One and the Same: the Thoughts come from the Body, the Body from the Thoughts. I am revealing an Attempt at Honesty and Self-Confidence, as Well as my Authentic Character ( Highly Sxual ) More than that I would like People to come to my Site because I am Naked on it. Still, if People come to my Site to look at my Naked Pictures ( they do, a Lot of them ), and while they are here they read One of my Essays about Feminism, isn't that making the World a Better Place?

Would I have chosen to appear Nude on my WebSite if I were Male / I did not fit the Contemporary Mold of "Feminine Beauty" - White, Slender, Young, cis, Able-Bodied, etc?

I would like to think that I would, but I have Never Xperienced Life as a Male, a TransPerson, or a Lady that People did not consider Conventionally “Beautiful.”

I would like to think that if I had a Male or Trans Body, I would put Xplicit Pictures on my Blog. The Message of my Choice is that it should be Okay to be Naked no Matter who you are. The Fact that it is not is the Result of Hundreds of Years of Social Conditioning that I think was meant to make People Weak and Easily Herded ( I recommend The Genealogy of Morals by Nietzsche for a Full Denouement on this Complx Psychological Subject ). I am not Weak. I am not Easily Herded. I fight Forces which would make me that Way. For Any Gender, Any Body-Type, a Push by Society to limit Self-Xpression is an Attempt to Limit that Body as an Individual Consciousness. I see no Reason not to appear Nude on my WebSite. Being called a "Whore" or an "Attention-Seeker" is not SomeThing I am aFraid of. Most Often, People calling me Names is a reAction based in Fear of me. I am Very Powerful.

Part of my Desire to appear Naked on my Blog has to do with being considered a "Beautiful" Lady. I have Never been considered "unAttractive," but I can understand how considering yourSelf "unAttractive" creates Neurosis. Ladies eSpecially are overvalued for their "Beauty." True Beauty is Self-Confidence, Self-Confidence an Absence of Shame. If, as a Beautiful Girl, I was aShamed of my Beauty, or talked it down, or felt the Need to hide it, I would lose this Beauty. If I had been born what Society considered "unAttractive," and, as a Consequence, hid my Body, I would be falling Victim to the Same Trap. I believe in Diversity. I was born with a Body that Cosmopolitan Magazine thinks is Hot, but Cosmopolitan Magazine can go fuck itsSelf. What is Beautiful to me is Self Possession, Originality and Confidence. All of which go Hand in Hand. A Person with these Qualities would be Proud of their Nudity, I imagine, Regardless of Society's "Beauty" Standards. I would like to see "Beauty Standards" disappear. Many of toDay’s "Beauty Standards" have, at their Root, the Same Drive to Population Manipulation through Shame as the Biblical Stories. 

UnDoubtably it is Easier for me, as what Society considers a “Beautiful” Girl, to go Naked on the InterNet, but I think, in acknowledging this and making my Efforts about More than this, I am taking the the Steps I can, from the Position I am in, to right a Social Wrong.

Self-Objectification as Power

I am aWare that growing up immersed in a Culture that promotes Self-Objectification of Bodies that resemble mine ( Thin, Young, White, cis-Female ) as a Means of Power Attainment for those Bodies inspired me to begin Self-objectifying as a Means of attaining Power. My Culture taught me that, as a Lady who looks like I do, if I wanted Power, the Thing to do was Self-objectify – offer my Body for Consumption in Return for Gifts within the Patriarchal Attention Economy. I have not rejected this Premise. What I have rejected is Three-Fold: 1 ) that Self-Objectification is the Only Means by which it is Acceptable for a Lady as a Lady to achieve Power, 2 ) that Self-Objectification invalidates Any Intellectual Point being made by the Lady Self-Objectifying ( “As a Lady, you are either a Hot Body or an Ugly Brain. There is no in between” ) and 3 ) that Self-Objectification cannot serve as a Tool in dismantling Patriarchy.

These Three Premises are rejected in my Art through the Juxtaposition of Self-Objectifying Imagery with Strong Feminist Philosophical Messages. What this Juxtaposition aims to communicate is that “a Feminist World is a Sxier World than a Patriarchal World.” Under Patriarchy, the Feminine Body is held up as Desirable Only so Long as it conforms to Patriarchal Beauty Standards, while the Feminine Intellect is dismissed as Worthless. Should a Lady display Intellect, she is portrayed as “not Feminine and not Sxe.” Under Feminism, the Full Range of Feminine Body Types and Feminine Intellects are celebrated in their Diversity and inteGrities. 

Self-Objectifying Imagery and Stories aLone do not comprise a Threat to the Patriarchy. It is a Trick which has Young Ladies convinced Self-Objectification = emPowerment. This is Truest, Perhaps, in the Case of Ladies whose Bodies do not fit Patriarchal Beauty Standards. Simply to Self-objectify when the Status Quo has deemed you unWorthy of Sxual Attention is a Challenge to the System of Bodily oppression. Still, Young Ladies who Self-objectify within the Arts but do not pose a Threat to the Patriarchy either through their Philosophies or through their Body Types are held up by the Patriarchy as Feminine Role Models in Order to encourage Young Ladies who fit these Body Types to seek emPowerment through Self-Objectification. Two Xamples include, in Music, Lana Del Rey, and in Literature, Marie Calloway. Both Lana Del Rey and Marie Calloway can be called “Feminist” because their Work xplores the Feminine Realm of Xperience. The underLying Message of Both Young Ladies’ Art, however, is that emPowerment is to be sought, by Young Ladies, through submissive Self-Objectification. Lana Del Rey may be a Careerist, but her Songs are allmost Universally about seeking Validation and Life Xperience through a Man who finds her Body Sxually Attractive. Marie Calloway may have commented that Some Men find her Ugly, and may promote the Creation of Art as a Means to subvert Patriarchy, but her Short Stories and Collages and the Means she has gone about achieving a Career suggest that seeking Validation and Life-Xperience through Men who find you, as a Lady, Sxually Attractive is the Most Effective Way to become a Celebrated Lady Writer. It is not the Self-Objectification these Young Ladies engage in that is their Short-Fall as Feminist Role Models, but the underLying Messages of their Art, which offer Little, Philosophically, beyond Self-Objectification as a Means of Power Attainment under Patriarchy. Which is to say that this Art is, in Fact, supporting a Power Structure which views the Power of Ladies as ending at the Men with whom they associate. “A Lady is Only as Powerful as the Man she is Self-objectifying for.”

My Xperiment !~OPERATION FUN~! is intended as a subVersion of the “Feminine Self-Objectification as Power under Patriarchy which does not threaten Patriarchy” Trope. It intends to show that Self-Objectification can be used as a Tool in dismantling Patriarchy. !~OPERATION FUN~! was inspired by Marie Calloway’s Adrian Brody, the Story of “Marie Calloway’s” Seduction of New Inquiry Editor Rob Horning – who is called “Adrian Brody” in the Story – which catapulted her to Literary Fame. Adrian Brody is Blandly written and Most Likely would not have achieved reCognition were it not for the Fact that a Young Lady Author calling herSelf “Marie Calloway” did indeed have Sx with New Inquiry Editor Rob Horning, who, unlike Marie Calloway at the Time, had Some Fame in NYC Literary Circles. Much of the Debate around Adrian Brody was concerned with whether or not the Story was “Feminist” – in that a Young Lady xploited Rob Horning for Fame ( her Advantage, his emBarrassment ) – or was “not Feminist” – in that the Story had Little Artistic Value outside of its Voyeuristic Aspects – the Only Reason People were talking about “Marie Calloway” was because of her Willingness, as an Attractive Young Lady, to Self-objectify in her Art. I think Both of these Points are True. Marie Calloway did manage to xploit Rob Horning in a Way that was to her Advantage and his emBarrassment, but, the Story also had Little Artistic Value beyond its Voyeuristic Aspects, which were predicated on the Self-objectification of a Young Lady. I felt that the Story was, in the End, was not Very emPowering to Young Ladies because, due to its Lack of Artistic Merit beyond its Voyeuristic Aspects, it encouraged Young Ladies to seek Fame in their Arts not through Technical Prowess but through offering Sxual Favours to Men in Positions of Power and then offering these Sxual Favours up to the Public to be enjoyed Vicariously. “A Lady is Only as Powerful as the Man she is Self-objectifying for.”

The Compelling Conflicts inherent in the Story Adrian Brody as a Thing that happened, which compensated for its Lack of Literary Technical Prowess ( what I Usually read for ), inspired me to create the emPowering Feminist Story Adrian Brody was not. Is it Possible, I wondered, to write a Story about a Young Lady who trades Sx with an Older Male in a Position of Power that works towards the Aims of freeing Young Ladies from their Position as the Perennial Sx Object? A Difficult Riddle to solve! I wanted to write this Story because I believe in Self-Objectification as a Tool of Self-emPowerment. What I would like to see is not the End of Self-Objectification by Ladies, but the Equalization of Power Dynamics in Sxual Role Playing between Men and Ladies. Which is to say that I wanted to write a Story in which Man and Lady were Equally Sxual Subject and Object and in which the Lady’s Self-Objectification served the Purpose of liberating her from Patriarchal Standards of Conduct. This would set it apart from Adrian Brody, which reinforced Patriarchal Standards of Conduct by implying that “a Lady is Only as Powerful as the Man she is Self-objectifying for.” Though Both Stories would centre around a Young Lady seeking Fame through offering Sxual Favours to a Powerful Man ( a Common enough Occurrence under Patriarchy ) the Message of my Story would be, “Because we live in a Patriarchy, a Talented Young Lady felt she had to associate herSelf with a Powerful Man in order to be taken Seriously; however, her Power goes above and beyond the Man she has chosen to associate with, and, once she associates with him, her Power, which Others had dismissed due to Patriarchal Bias, is Evident.” 
The Result was !~OPERATION FUN~!. 
In !~OPERATION FUN~!, a Young Lady named “Andrea Coates” decides she will seduce a Powerful Man named “Shane Smith” whose Media Company, VICE, is Guilty of publishing Young Ladies whose Careers were made on their Pubic Sxual Relationships with allready Established Male Writers, that is to say Girls whose Careers were made on their being the Sx Objects of Male Writers who were established on their Literary Talents aLone. Andrea Coates’ Logic is that if Shane Smith is willing to pay these Girls to write because their Fames, acquired via their Sxual Relationships ( their being Sxually objectified ), bring More Readers to his Magazine, he is condoning the Seeking of Power, inFluence and Jobs by Young Ladies through their Seduction of Well-Placed Men ( he is encouraging Ladies Self-objectify for Fame ), which leaves him Vulnerable to being seduced himSelf. But, because Andrea Coates’ Purpose in seducing Shane Smith is not just Power and inFluence and a Job, but to draw Attention to the Patriarchal Bias in Media ( which is a Bias in who is Sxually objectified ), which she hopes to remedy, she will not have Sx with Shane Smith unless he agrees to apologize, Publicly, for this Company’s Complicity in Gender-Biased Sxual Objectification.

Andrea Coates seeks to make Shane Smith fall in Love with her by displaying not Only her Youthful, Conventionally-Attractive Body ( by Self-objectifying ), but also her Skills as an Author and Media-Producer ( displaying her Complx Reality as Subject ). This is an imPortant Diversion from Adrian Brody because while that Story is told from a Feminine Subjective Perspective, it does not so Much highlight Marie Calloway’s Efforts to prove to Adrian Brody her Complx Subjectivity, but her Willingness to objectify herSelf to flatter his Subjective Ego. While Both Adrian Brody and !~OPERATION FUN~! make “the Man” the Sxual Object of a Feminine Subject, Adrian Brody focuses on Marie Calloway’s submission to Adrian Brody during their Sxual enCounter, her Willingness to be “the Admiring Young Lady” for him, her Willingness to let him cum on her Face, etc, re-establishing her as the Primary Object. !~OPERATION FUN~!, meanwhile, focuses on Andrea Coates’ Desire to Sxually and Intellectually dominate Shane Smith, to Publically shame him for his Errors of the Past, to sxualize him on the Basis of his Worldly Success, to have him publish More Sxually-Objectifying Images of Men in his Magazine, and to have him live in Open PolyAmory. So, even though Andrea Coates is the One Naked in All of the Photographs in !~OPERATION FUN~!, Shane Smith is Constantly being reminded of his Position as the Object of Andrea Coates’ Lust – she wants him to know what it feels like to be objectified in the Media. !~OPERATION FUN~! establishes “Andrea Coates’” Moral and Intellectual Superiority over “Shane Smith,” which not Only Firmly defines her as Subject, but means she will Sxually dominate Shane Smith, no matter his Material and Physical Power over her, as the metaPhysical directs the Physical. In Return for her Moral and intelLectual Gifts, Shane Smith is to award Andrea Coates Sx and Access to his Media Empire, equalizing their Power. And while Adrian Brody ends with Both Characters looking Morally-Suspect ( Marie Calloway needs a Man to make her Career / Adrian Brody cheats on his GirlFriend with a Younger Lady because she flatters his Professional Ego ), Andrea Coates and Shane Smith are Morally redeemed of their Actions by the Apology for and commitment to address the Sxist Bias at VICE Media, Andrea Coates’ Body Merely being a Bribe to get Shane Smith to make this Apology and Commitment. Finally, for its Unique Literary Style and Philosophical Depth, !~OPERATION FUN~! has Value as a Work of Art outside of whether or not Andrea Coates and Shane Smith ever have Sx. Adrian Brody, however, outside of its Value, based in the Actuality of the Sx described, as Gossip, is not Very Well-written or Philosophically proFound.

This was Simply an Xample of how Self-Objectification is a Tool that can be used either to reinforce the Patriarchy or to challenge it.

Porn

I make Porn because, as a Young Girl trolling the InterNet for Arousing Material, I have been Sorely disappointed. Allmost All Pornography on the Net is shot from a Male Perspective for Male Consumption; Much Pornography “for Girls” is Boring. Some say Ladies just “don't want Porn,” but I think it is Truer that Hardly AnyOne makes Porn we would want to watch. You know what they say about wanting to do Things Right. :) My Plan is, within the Nxt Few Years, to release PornoGraphic Films under the Label PulPit PornArt.
