Not a happy poem

Someone should make a short-lived antidepressant
That doesn’t make you stupid
Like the illegal ones do
I don’t think it's possible
And that's another reason
I’ll always have bad days

In the Philippines, people die in floods
In Afghanistan, families are slaughtered by armies
Nature does not take mercy
Only humans can do that
Only someone can tell me it's okay
Or hold me and tell me they’ll change
Too bad these are the same people
Who upset me in the first place
And if I ever find a man I can stand
Our children will take his place
